He’s not looking for glory

He’s running from it

The Search for FORGIVENESS…

The Almaris Chronicles is a low-fantasy adventure series that follows the story of retired soldier, Guile Serdio, as he struggles to find peace after the loss of his wife. An action-packed, literary drama from beginning to end, these books are a “must read” for anyone who enjoys getting lost in worlds-unknown with characters that are just as easy to love as they are to hate.

Know before you read!

Romantic Content: 1/5

Romantic relationships are hinted at, but strictly in a way that serves to develop character arcs, or as a means to drive the overall plot forward.

Violent Scenes: 5/5

Some scenes depict graphic acts of intense violence that may not be suitable for young readers. Recommended reading age: >16 yrs.

Foul Language: 3/5

Foul language used from time to time.

Use of Magic: 1/5

Being a low-fantasy novel, the use of “magic spells” is nearly non-existent. However, what the world lacks in sorcery, it makes up for with its own form of spiritual mysticism.

Political Intrigue: 4/5

Much of the overall plot revolves around Guile’s endeavors to navigate (or merely survive) an ever-changing political landscape that’s been molded by nearly two centuries of non-stop conflict.

Use of Tropes: 2/5

Though some fantasy tropes do crop up from time to time, the overall story tries to be as authentic/original as it can be, offering a breath of fresh air for most die-hard, fantasy enthusiasts looking for something “invitingly different.”

“Fantasy Feeling”: 3/5

Set in a fictional world, the series is laced with subtle hints of magical realism that keeps the story well grounded while also making the world feel enchanted and alive.

Other Noteworthy Aspects:

This series boasts a strong, male lead who’s morally grounded in traditional core values, such as honor, duty, and selfless sacrifice. What’s more, they unapologetically explore the ideas of religious necessity in every man’s life, as well as the importance of faith and servitude to a hire power. Tailored specifically for young men, these stories aim to give them a set of moral examples that they can both appreciate and relate to as they continue to grow, mature, and start families of their own.

Also, for some reason, married women (specifically, happily-married women) love these books! I can’t tell you how many emails/DM’s we’ve gotten saying something along the lines of, “this is why I married my husband,” or, “this is what real love is supposed to look like.” I can only speculate that this is because most women worth being married to simply desire a man worth marrying. Who’d have thunk it?
